Preschool Fun

Brandt loves preschool. And as we know, preschool does fun things. So today Brandt had crazy hair day and he wanted his hair crazy. At the time we didn't have colored hair spray but we had gel and regular hair spray . . . he loved it.

But what he really would have liked to do was this . . .

AA Yankees

Jayce had an amazing season with the Yankees. He ended up playing on a AA team with 7,8, and 9 year olds when he's only 6. His coach Dave was also his fall ball coach and we felt like he would learn so much more being on his team. Me being his mom, I was a little nervous. He ranges on the smaller side for a 6 year old. After his first practice Jerry and I were more than pleased at how warm and welcoming the team was to him. He got out there and made plays and just fit right in. Jayce was always "baseball ready" and ready to make a play.

Here is Jayce making his last hit at his last game of the season. Go Jayce!!!

Fathers and Sons

This is the time of year that every mother with boys dreams of. Dad gets to take the boys and go camping. I'm not a fan of being home alone so I would just rather have them here but . . . they love it and it's a nice break. It's always exiting the day of because it's time to get everything ready and go get treats (junk food) to take with them. They usually don't get much sleep and come home smelly and dirty.

They always enjoy roasting marshmallows but aren't into the whole s'more thing.

When I say messy . . . this is only the beginning and he is by far our messiest boy. Not to mention, quite the character.

Another great camping trip to remember.

T Ball Angels

Brandt just got finished playing T-ball for the Angels and absolutely loved it! He never wanted to miss a practice or a game. He was a great player and always loved to play anywhere close to the pitchers mound or first base. Every game he would say, "mom we won." Yah, there is no keeping score in T-ball so they were always winners. Way to go Brandt!!

Crew James Leatherman

Press Release – for immediate distribution

Murrieta, CA – 4/6/09 – Opening day for Crew proved to be even more fantastic than anticipated. Batting cleanup, he showed why Team Leatherman has such lofty expectations for this 5 tool player (a 5 tool player excels at sleeping, eating, pooping, crying and burping). It wasn’t but 10 minutes into the game before Crew ripped one to plate Jayce, Brandt and Dane, breaking open the game. In one fell swoop the fans fell in love with this young phenom.

Speaking at the press conference earlier in the day when he arrived at the new stadium, Crew commented on the team, “The chemistry here between players and ownership is second to none. All I want to do is slide into the mix and offer my talents as a rook. The Leatherman’s passion to win is world renowned and I plan to bring my A-game to the park each day and hope they don’t catch me napping too much.”

If his first day on the job is any indication, Crew meshes well with this storied franchise. Going to his bread and butter option for most of the game he brought out the spitter early and often. Flashing the leather on the diamond was reminiscent of his namesake, Papa James and it didn’t take long for the boys to mesh as they performed web gem after web gem.

No slouch at the dish either, Crew demonstrated that he can rake with the best of them. Billed as a professional hitter, he’ll be dropping bomb after bomb. Once he made his first trip to home plate you can tell that he’ll be spending a lot of time hanging out there this season. In fact, once Crew finishes juicing there will be plenty of blowouts.

Team owner Heather loves having home field advantage when her squad takes the field. “We have great seats to the big show. Even though these kids need some seasoning, they catch on real quick and it makes for a lot of laughers.”

Ownership addressed the rumors about acquiring a cheerleader through free agency at the press conference. “Sure, it would be nice to have someone in a skirt around here besides me” said Heather. “But all we came across were high priced prima donnas that we just didn’t want to put up with right now.” Co-Partner of Team Leatherman, Jerry followed that up with, “Look, back-to-back-to-back-to-back future Hall of Famers. It’s a murderer’s row of talent that we’ve got here. This one is in the books.”

I think I can swim . . . I think I can't. . . .

Today was our last day of swimming lessons. After two weeks of lessons, I'd say Jayce can pretty much swim. Brandt on the other hand . . . he's getting closer. Hopefully next year he'll be a little more daring. On the last day Jayce jumped of the diving board. After he did it once, he wanted to do it over and over. Good job boys!

Our Family Vacation . . .

We just returned from a great family vacation in Utah. I know, nowhere too exciting but we love it everytime we go. We usually always stay with Jill and Scott and they have this AWESOME rec center right by their house. As you can see, my kids LOVE IT! That's basically all they want to do the whole time we're there.

This is the play center they have inside . . .

Then you go out side and they have this . . .

Dane loved the slide.

At one end of the pool you could play basketball. Jayce was into it but Brandt pretty much hung out where it was safe.

Jayce and Brandt enjoyed playing with Nick . . .

While Dane enjoyed flirting with Jadie . . .

Then we headed up to Chris and Nancy's to help celebrate Chris's big 40th. Papa Dee came out in his favorite outfit to do a little dance and sing a little song.

Then we enjoyed some real dancers . . .

(ok, notice those beautiful green trees . . . yah that's their backyard. that's utah for you)

And some not so real dancers . . .

Happy Birthday Chris. Thanks for letting us be a part of your celebration!
